Jack B. Commander, Jr.
Jack is a seasoned construction management and engineering professional with more than 20 years’ experience with a broad range of projects, both nationally and internationally. His experience encompasses managing and overseeing all phases of construction, from planning and design through completion, for projects ranging up to $150 million and higher.
Jack’s project management experience includes conducting pre-bid conferences and project meetings, awarding and negotiating contracts, establishing and overseeing project budgets and schedules, establishing manpower requirements consistent with budgets and schedules, ensuring work product complies with contract requirements and documents, managing general and specialty contractors, overseeing project completion, and facilitating contract close-out.
A significant portion of his career has been spent managing resort projects for Universal Studios. He has provided services in connection with infrastructure, municipal roadways and site packages supporting development of Universal’s theme parks, hotels, restaurants and entertainment complexes, parking structures and internal roadways. He also served as project engineer and manager for Universal Beijing Resort, overseeing the master planning, conceptual design and schematic design phases. Jack also has managed and supervised the design and construction of other heavily themed projects including hotels, restaurants, retail stores and other facilities. In all these projects, he has meticulously worked to ensure the integrity of the owner’s brand.
Jack’s civil and environmental engineering design experience includes negotiating contracts, performing design calculations, producing contract drawings and technical specifications, establishing project budgets and schedules, and procuring required governmental permits.
