The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, part of the nation's central bank, opened the Money Museum and Learning Center in January 2006. Replacing public teller windows vacated after September 11, 2001, the Learning Center fosters a better understanding of the Bank's purpose and functions. The centerpiece of the Learning Center is a permanent Money Museum, with over 25 hands-on exhibits focusing on the history of money, its effects on societies and cultures, and its central role in peoples' lives.
