The program provides a tax credit of up to 25% of eligible costs, capped at $5 million per project, to leverage the private redevelopment of Ohio’s historic buildings.

Spark GHC was awarded $5 million of OHPTC for Project Scarlet, the planned redevelopment of the historic Rose and Sloan buildings at East 9th Street and Prospect Avenue in Downtown Cleveland into a mixed-use development which will include hotel, multifamily residential apartments, and ground floor restaurant and office space.

Blue Suede Hospitality Group was awarded $1.325 million in OHPTC for the planned redevelopment of the George F. Otte Carpet Company Building in Downtown Cincinnati into a 44-key boutique hotel. This redevelopment will revitalize this beautiful historic structure in the heart of Cincinnati, generating new jobs and tax revenues.
